STRATFORD UPON AVON

During the 20th century Stratford Upon Avon continued to grow and by the 1951 it had a population of almost 15,000.

The Royal Shakespeare Theatre was built in 1932 and the Shakespeare Centre opened in 1964.

Today Stratford Upon Avon thrives on tourism. It is a very popular tourist destination because of its status as the birthplace of William Shakespeare. In 2006 plans were announced to refurbish the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Furthermore Stratford Teddy Bear Museum opened in 1988.

Today the population of Stratford upon Avon is 24,000.
