High Definition Vs Standard Definition

It can be a little confusing when it comes to Video Formats these days.

This section is designed to answer any questions you might have about the High Definition Format and if it's the right option for you right now.

Below are two identical pieces of Video footage, the only difference is the Footage A has been filmed in HD (High Definition) and Footage B in SD (Standard Definition)

If you have any other questions regarding format, please email us at support@digimem.net and we will be happy to give you some guidance.

We Film on HDV capable equipment giving a resolution of 1440 x 1080i (50) - This is Industry standard.

You will need to have a Blu-Ray player in order to play back this footage from a Blu-Ray disc.

Our Cameras are also capable of filming at SD (Standard Definition) giving a resolution of 720 x 576 (PAL) - As our cameras are broadcast quality, they give outstanding image results. The results will however vary depending on your Television equipment and DVD playback equipment.

Please note that playback is dependant on your Internet Connection, PC speed and Flash version. This is for demonstration purposes only, actual results may differ.

BEST VIEWED USING FIREFOX

Video Footage A (High Definition)

Video Footage B (Standard Definition)

If Playback is slow and jerky, this will be to do with connection speed. You can download the sample videos from the HD Download & SD Download buttons. This will save them to your computer and open in your preffered video player. Please note that the actual quality of HD & SD footage will be superior to these demos.
